SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE MOBILITY NEEDS

Our theatre is located on the elevated first floor of the Downers Grove Masonic Temple. As it is a registered, historic building, it has not been updated to comply with all ADA regulations. We care deeply about doing everything we can to make our theatre accessible to all without an elevator. To enter our theatre, patrons must:

  • Travel from vehicle passenger seat to front steps (approx. 20 feet)

  • Ascend 3 concrete steps with metal railing before entering building or choose to use our portable, metal wheelchair ramp that can be setup by our staff

  • Ascend 12 steps with metal railings and terrazzo flooring or ride a stairchair with seatbelt, liftable arms, and footplate up to the lobby level

  • Either request removal of a theatre seat and view performance seating in patron-owned mobility device/wheelchair or transfer out of mobility device/wheelchair into padded, backed, arm-less theatre seat. Aisle seats are any seat numbered 4, 5, 18, or 19 in every row. These can be removed so a patron can sit in their wheelchair to watch a show, or can be easily transferred into from the aisle.

SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD-OF-HEARING

Ghostlight ETC is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with a team of AMAZING, local American Sign Language interpreters to provide accessible performances to the Deaf/hard of hearing community!

Funded through Ghostlight ETC’s non-profit, we are so fortunate to be able to offer ASL interpretation services upon request!

ASL interpreted performances will be labeled as such on our ticketing site.

Please be sure to provide a minimum of 2 week’s notice prior to the performance date to allow for scheduling and rehearsal time.
